“Xylella” is the story of a lost landscape, the one in which I was born where olive trees were a certainty for eyes, memory and tradition until a plant pathogen starts spreading, drying up thousands of trees, that die and completely transform the scenery I used to see and live. They seem to me upside-down, as they were falling down from the sky. In my mind , on one hand the memories that I had from this place and on the other hand the new reality could not coexist in harmony. So, I turned the images to actually give them a new life using kind of the same perception that we used to have as a memory of what existed.
